Decades Late is a band that delivers a new take on 90’s Alternative Rock. Most of the band’s music was indeed written and played in the 1990’s yet is only now being released—true to the band’s name, Decades Late.
The group’s music is guitar-driven, melodic alt-rock defined by contrasts: vintage rock vibes meet an indie edge that feels both familiar and new at the same time. Decades Late’s musical range is on full display in their latest release, featuring hard rock tracks like On Your Own, grunge-inspired songs like There It Goes, and acoustic indie-pop tracks like Where Is the Sun? and All of the Seasons.
Led by songwriter and frontman Andre’ Haroche the band’s debut album was recorded at Vinegar Hill Sound in Brooklyn in Summer and Fall ‘24 with drummer David Butler (toured with Lee “Scratch” Perry, Guster, American Babies and more) and Brett Bass (toured with Gregg Allman, Bernie Worrell, Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors and more).
Their LP, Double Appropriation was produced by Reed Black using vintage equipment like a 1961 VOX amplifier, 1960s Neumann microphones, on a Studer 24-track analog multitrack tape machine in order to capture a sound that was once only the domain of vinyl records. With their new LP Decades Late has created distinctive new music with the familiarly of vintage alt-rock that isn’t just catching up on lost time.
